The “Make a Wish” campaign is one of those initiatives of Dari s Rita Foundation that reminds us why we do what we do. It is not just a gift-giving campaign, but an invitation to be present in children’s personal moments – on their birthdays, during their small celebrations, and in their need for attention, presence, and shared time.

In 2025, we continued to develop the campaign with great dedication and care, once again having the opportunity to be part of the lives of the children at the Blagoevgrad residential care center and to share moments with them that truly stay with us.
What we achieved in 2025
- BGN 1,621.82 from your donations was used entirely for the children’s birthdays in Blagoevgrad – for birthday gifts, pizza, and cake 🎂
- Throughout the year, we visited the children 9 times, spending meaningful time together
- 9 volunteers took part in these visits 🤍
- We brought joy to 13 children with special birthday gifts and celebrations 🎁
During our visits we spent quality time together where we played, drew, competed, talked, and laughed side by side. These were moments of genuine connection and presence.
The gifts we chose this year were varied and carefully selected. We did our best to match them as closely as possible to each child’s character and wishes, while always respecting the rules of the center. Together, we gifted watches, a children’s piano and guitar, a necklace, games, and, of course, every gift also included books 📚.
The results of the campaign, after already spending a second year visiting the Blagoevgrad care center and sharing time with the children there, cannot be measured by specific metrics. What we can say with certainty is that these visits enrich both them and us – we share our worlds and emotions, learn patience from one another, sometimes even a new dance 💃, and most of all, a sense of responsibility.
This is undoubtedly one of our most meaningful and fulfilling initiatives.
For 2026, we have set the following goals:
- to visit the center at least once a month
- to continue improving our choice of gifts
- to encourage the children to read their books more
- to involve more volunteers
- to be able to give more personal attention to each child
- to diversify activities and competitions, sometimes adding small incentive prizes 🌟
This year, the number of children at the center has grown to 15, and to our great happiness, the funds from our Christmas campaign “Making Christmas Happen 2025” will be sufficient to cover the gifts and birthday celebrations for all of them.
Now that the new year has begun and we are all back in everyday reality – rushing to achieve and pursue our goals and dreams – let us not forget that good deeds are needed not only at Christmas, but throughout the entire year.
